The long-awaited reveal of our Home Remodel (at least the exterior!)

The long-awaited pictures of my home remodel! Okay, it’s finally time to see this amazing transformation—from avocado green to white and blue.

A little background to refresh your memory since it’s been a minute! When I say we bought a green house, I truly mean it. Every single aspect of this place was decked out in shades of green—from the trim and siding to the windows, posts, beams, gutters, and downspouts. You name it… if it could be painted green, it was.

After spending the last decade helping countless clients create their dream homes, we finally found the perfect house to make our own. The reality is, we had to do a major GLOW UP just to move in because this house had been untouched for 50 years. And yes… you can imagine all the work it needed.

Unlike the quick transformations you see on HGTV or celebrity homes, our process has been intentional and realistic. We’re a casual family living in Northern California, creating a home that reflects our lifestyle, culture, and the way we actually live. We wanted to enjoy the process, not rush through it.

Our style? Think Barcelona meets Cabo. YES. We’re a multicultural family who loves paella and tacos, the beach and desert greenery, wine and tequila—and we happen to live and LOVE California.

Once we completed the major glow-up inside, we moved in. The interior finally felt beautiful, but the backyard… not so much. We started slowly by tackling the front of the house first, beginning with a new driveway because it was absolutely necessary. But of course, once that was done, we couldn’t stop there. One project turned into hardscape, landscape, and more exterior work.

Honestly, getting that first part completed felt SO rewarding. We could finally walk through the front of the house without dirt everywhere, and it started feeling like home.

Then came the big decision… Do we continue with the interior projects—the primary bathroom and kitchen—or do we go all in on the patio space we knew we’d actually use every single day?

Say no more. We chose the patio.

We decided to fully focus on the middle patio because that’s where we pictured ourselves spending most of our time as a family, and it truly has become exactly that. We paused the interior remodel and poured our energy into creating an outdoor space we could really enjoy.

The photos speak for themselves. Endless work, dirt, decisions, and people constantly coming in and out. Truly, living through a remodel while staying in the house made me WAY more appreciative of what so many of my clients experience during their own renovations.

And now? We can honestly say we’re so glad we prioritized the exterior first because we are absolutely loving our little piece of Mexican paradise with a Spanish blend.

I’m now getting ready to photograph my office, finishing up the final details, and then you’ll get to see the rest. Stay tuned!
