This dynamic family embarked on a thoughtful home expansion to enhance their daily routines and create personalized spaces for their three children. The addition blends seamlessly with the existing architecture, introducing three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a garage, and a much-needed mudroom. Every detail of the design balances functionality with personality.

The highly organized mudroom serves as the home’s practical entry point, minimizing clutter with custom built-ins and a comfortable bench for everyday convenience. Each new bedroom was designed to reflect each child’s personality: the daughter’s room radiates warmth with a soft palette of pale pink and cream and a cozy window seat; the creative son’s room features light wood paneling, display shelving for his Lego collection, and cool blue undertones that inspire focus; while the sports enthusiast’s room proudly celebrates his passion with framed “Niners” jerseys set against warm neutrals and crisp off-white walls.

The bathrooms were equally reimagined with distinctive finishes. The boys’ bathroom showcases a double vanity in a neutral green with a clean white countertop and contrasting tilework. Stone-like tiles cover the floor, while the shower features a playful combination of vertically stacked and checkerboard tiles. The girl’s bathroom offers a softer, more organic feel with a light oak vanity, brass fixtures, and vertically stacked white subway tiles for a modern touch. Did you notice the pull-out step hidden in the vanity to help her reach the faucet? We loved that detail.

Ultimately, this thoughtful expansion has transformed the house into a more spacious, functional, and character-filled home—one where every family member enjoys a space that truly reflects their unique spirit and lifestyle.
