With the idea of selling the house in 5 years, ROI (return on investment) was a top priority for this couple. The clients wanted a beautiful kitchen that they would be able to enjoy while still living in their home. They knew from the start that they wanted a white kitchen with a touch of warmth. The other thing was that the layout needed to remain the same, but they still wanted the space to feel bigger, and more open. Although the wife was hesitant at first about a white backsplash on top of white countertops with white cabinets, she had no regrets in the end; in fact, she loved the clean feel of it. Luckily, my clients were open to suggestions and trusted the process. It allowed for the kitchen to become a beautiful white canvas to work with. We were able to add in those warm touches by using a beautiful, rich wood on the island, polished nickel pendants above it, and a bamboo shade on the window. On the very last day that we met at their home, one of my clients was almost in tears and couldn't thank us enough for how beautiful everything turned out. Moments like this are what make me love what I do!
